Features

Built for the workflows Navisworks leaves to the coordinator.

Eight capabilities that replace hours of manual selection, viewpoint, and reporting work with repeatable automation driven by your model properties.

Property-based selection and search sets

Automatically generate complex selection and search sets based on property hierarchy.

  • Walk any property path across model instances
  • Nest sets to match discipline or system breakdowns
  • Preserves original grouping for downstream clash workflows

Automated clash grouping

Automatically find and group clashes based on intersection with other elements.

  • Collapse hundreds of duplicate hits into meaningful assemblies
  • Group by element, system, zone, or custom property
  • Reduces review time on dense federated models

Viewpoint isolation and color-coding

Isolate, color-code, and export viewpoints directly from selection sets.

  • Apply deterministic coloring by property value
  • Batch-generate viewpoints across hundreds of elements
  • Export images for coordination meetings and reports

Image, HTML, and Excel reports

Generate image, HTML, and Excel reports from clashes, viewpoints, and selections.

  • Templated output suitable for owner and trade reviews
  • Includes metadata and properties alongside images
  • Repeatable per project cycle without manual formatting

Custom quantity take-offs

Export custom quantity take-offs based on model properties and selection logic.

  • Pull counts, lengths, areas, and volumes by property
  • Configurable units and rounding per output
  • Excel-ready, no post-processing required

Explode model by properties

Split the federated model into property-driven groupings for targeted review.

  • Separate by level, system, contractor, or phase
  • Useful for staged handovers and construction sequencing
  • Reversible — the original federation is untouched

Find selection sets containing selected elements

Quickly locate every selection set that contains a given element.

  • Troubleshoot misgrouped elements in seconds
  • Audit coverage across discipline-specific sets
  • Works with nested and search-based sets

Viewpoint generation with color-code

Automatically generate viewpoints with consistent color-coding for documentation.

  • Color legend derived from the driving property
  • Persistent viewpoint styles across sessions
  • Ready for presentation without manual touch-up

About

Built by a BIM practitioner, for BIM coordinators.

Productivity Toolbox is a Navisworks add-in that packages the workflows Navisworks ships without. The product focuses on the coordinator's day: property-driven selection sets, clash grouping, viewpoint color-coding, custom reports, and quantity take-offs — each repeatable, each driven by the model's own properties instead of manual effort.

The underlying problem is simple. Most BIM coordinators spend hours per week on mechanical tasks that Navisworks treats as one-off actions: recreating selection sets across federated updates, untangling clash results into something reviewable, generating viewpoint decks for weekly coordination meetings, and exporting reports that need to match a project template. The plugin turns each of those into a small, configurable operation.

The product is built and maintained by a solo publisher with a civil engineering background and direct BIM coordination experience on large infrastructure and building projects. Updates are shipped on a rolling schedule; support is handled directly.
